MOE Secondary School Course
Rediscover that spark.
Secondary School Chinese is difficult. It may have caused your child to lose their love for the subject, or even the language. Without love, there is no perseverance, and thereby grades will begin to fall.
At IYU, we encourage your child to rediscover that spark with us. Find out how we achieve the impossible below.
Clarity is key.
After close to a decade of teaching, we know that clarity is key. That's why we developed our own tried-and-tested answer structures and tactics to enlighten students and finally give them that "a-ha" moment.
And let us tell you from experience:
Enlightenment IS motivation.
Our course
IYU's programme complements the Chinese Language Curriculum approved by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Singapore. Our small classes give teachers more time to focus on students’ individual needs and prepare them for O Level Higher Chinese/Chinese.
Skill mastery
To master Chinese to a level where acing tests is possible, our teachers at IYU focus on these 3 primary skills for your child to finally understand and master:
Oral Skills
Training students to think creatively about current affairs and discover various perspectives, while forming their own views and accurately expressing themselves verbally.
Reading Comprehension
Develop analytical skills with various question structures. Recognise literary devices and subtle cues that are key to understanding a passage.
Writing skills
Constructing complex sentence structures while applying advanced vocabulary, proverbs and idioms.
The tests
